Health & Happiness Renewed
It is the beginning of a new year. Have you made new years resolutions? Many people begin each new with resolutions. Perhaps health and happiness are at the top of your priority list. Maintaining a balance in life can be challenging in such a hectic-paced world.
One way to help gain a renewed sense of general health and happiness is by incorporating essential oils into your daily lifestyle. Stress affects everyone, including children. Using essential oils can help with relaxation and purifying the atmosphere is our homes. These are two ways to improve our health and well-being.
Let’s look at a few essential oils that can be blended together to have a relaxing and calming affect. Lavender officinalis is calming, relaxing, and has sedative properties. It makes a lovely addition to almost every blend. All of the citrus essential oils are uplifting and make us feel good. Examples are orange, bergamot, mandarin, lemon, grapefruit, and lime. Another favorite is Patchouli. It is centering and grounding and is known as a base note, which will enhance the blend and make it last longer. Its earthy aroma is pleasing to everyone.
For those who do not have time to make their own blends, I am always pleased to make blends for individuals. The other option is to purchase pre-blended oils.
Essential oil blends can be used in the bath, massage, and electronic diffusers. Another alternative is a room spray. Atmospheric diffusion provides the opportunity for each family member to enjoy the benefits of the essential oils.
Colds and flu are proliferating this winter. By using essential oils in any of the above-mentioned methods, they will help boost immunity and get rid of those nasty bugs in the atmosphere.
Essential oils that are useful for respiratory conditions are Eucalyptus globulus, Eucalyptus radiata, Eucalyptus citriodora, and Ravensara. They blend well with Lavender officinalis. The chamomile essential oils, pine, niaouli and tea tree are good additions for a blend to purify the atmosphere.
Getting started using essential oils is very easy. My suggestion is to begin with one or two essential oils and use them for everything. Lavender officinalis is pleasing to almost everyone and the first essential oil I suggest.
For your protection, use essential oils that are certified EOBBD (Essential oils biochemically and botanically defined) to obtain the desired effect. Scented or fragrance oils are different from essential oils. Purchase essential oils from a reputable supplier.
